I like preparing and trying different foods and flavors so when I was given the opportunity to try Campbell’s Slow Kettle Style Soups I couldn’t pass it up.
I first thought the soup container was microwave only. I haven’t used microwaves for cooking or reheating for over a year already so I figured I would just do as I normally would and prepare the soup in a saucepan on the stove. When I read the label on the side, I noticed the recommended method was stovetop anyway so, Yay for Me! 😉
I decided to enjoy the soup on a chili day for lunch. I was getting online trainings done and figured it would be great to keep me warm, fill me up and not take too much of my time. I emptied the contents into a saucepan and stirred occasionally over medium heat. It took only a few minutes and it was ready to be savored. I poured the contents back into the container because it was insulated/thermal and I figured it would keep the soup warm and not be too hot to hold, in comparison to one of my regular ceramic bowls.
Although I was being productive by watching online trainings, this was perfect “Me” time. With the family away at work and school, I was in the comfort of my home, with a nice hot bowl of soup and cozy socks. I was able to slow down and focus on the task at hand without being pulled in different directions checking homework, signing forms, and listening to four others sharing their days highlights all at once. I savored that bowl of soup like it was the last meal of the day. But oh, the flavor! I was amazed at how chock-full-of vegetables and chicken each spoonful was. The Southwest Style Chicken Chili tasted homemade and I was satisfied with the amount in the serving.
While I normally prefer home-cooked meals and am a DIY (do-it-yourself)-er, I would purchase Campbell’s Slow Kettle Style Soups in the future. I find them great for those busy days when I need to prepare something quick but I don’t want to skip out on the feeling of actually having a satisfying meal.
What is your favorite way to slow down and savor a moment to yourself?
